Cape May-Lewes Ferry updates travel restrictions
The Cape May-Lewes Ferry will allow bicyclists and foot passengers again with capacity restrictions, starting Monday, Feb. 22. According to a Feb. 18 press release, all bicyclists and foot passengers must have a reservation, are required to check in at the ticket counter prior to boarding, and must arrive at least 45 minutes before departure time. The passenger salon aboard the vessels will also be open; however, inside seating capacity is currently limited to about 20 percent. Passengers must wear face masks and stay socially distanced from anyone not in their traveling party. They are urged to pay attention to onboard directional signage to help control the flow of traffic on the vessel. Masks are required in the terminals, on board the vessels, and in outdoor areas while on terminal grounds. Exterior seating is open to all passengers. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will be holding a virtual (Zoom) informational presentation for the proposed roadway improvements along the Route 24 corridor in Sussex County, on Thursday, Feb. 25, from 5 to 6 p.m.
Areas included in the projects include Route 24 from Mulberry Knoll to Route 1; from Love Creek to Mulberry Knoll; at Camp Arrowhead Road; at Robinsonville/Angola Road; at Routes 5/23; at Bay Farm and Mount Joy roads; as well as the Route 24 Pavement Rehabilitation Project for Route 113 to Millsboro Pond Bridge, and Burtons Pond dam improvements.
The public can also visit that website on Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. to join the Zoom meeting for the informational presentation. The department will be presenting project impacts and schedules and will answer questions submitted by the public. The presentation will be recorded and remain available on the website.

An Alameda man going through a divorce, was murdered more than 10 years ago. The crime remains unsolved, but there was more than one reason for people to be upset with the victim, including molestation charges against him.
ALAMEDA, Calif. - It was just after midnight in December 2009. Darin Vinall was in his townhouse on Parfait Lane on Alameda’s Bay Farm Island.
Darin, at the end of his marriage of 14 years, had been leaving a voice mail for his divorce attorney. He was walking down the stairs, he was talking about the case, then he suddenly said, ‘Oh my kitchen window’s on the floor, said his brother Jeff Vinall.
