WORCESTER A father of four was shot and killed early Saturday morning on Chandler Street.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the area of the Paku Lounge Restaurant at 215 Chandler St. for a “ShotSpotter” activation, according to police.
Police saw the victim on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers rendered medical aid on the victim who was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
Although the victim’s name is being withheld by police, the victim’s family confirmed that the deceased is Carlos Cruz, 44, of Worcester.
On Friday night at approximately 7:45 PM, Worcester Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Crompton Park for a report of a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon arrival, officers located a sixteen-year-old gunshot victim near the playground area.
Officers rendered medical aid and the male was transported to the hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries. The Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit arrived and began the investigation.
This investigation is ongoing.

Two men were found by police Thursday night with gunshot wounds on Sigel Street in Worcester, authorities said.
Police didn’t provide an update to the condition of the two men, who were 19 and 20 years old.
At about 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, police in Worcester responded to the area of Sigel and Bigelow Streets for a ShotSpotter activation, police said. After arriving officers found two men who had been shot, police said.
Officers rendered medical aid until they two men were transported to a hospital, police said.
