The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team collected it’s 12th victory of the season in convincing fashion Monday, beating West Liberty for the second time in 48 hours 59-25. The Hawks would not trail on the night, opening the game on a 12-0 run, they led 17-4 after one quarter. They would use a 19-4 second quarter run to stretch the lead to 36-10 by halftime. In the second half, the lead would grow to as many as 34 in favor of the Hawks. Mid-Prairie was dominant on both sides of the ball, putting West Liberty through a six minute first half scoring drought, an 11 minute drought from the floor and a 22 minute drought from two point range. Mid-Prairie outrebounded the Comets by 18 and forced 15 turnovers. Hawks Celebrate Senior Night With Sweep

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams honored their seniors with a pair of wins over the Tipton Tigers Tuesday at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman for Senior Night. The Golden Hawk girls were able to grind out a 38-33 win. The Golden Hawks led 8-3 after the first quarter, but trailed 14-12 at half. In the second half, Mid-Prairie turned up the intensity across the board, outrebounding Tipton by seven, forcing 24 total Tiger turnovers on the night and putting together an 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter to pull away in the win.
