The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team collected it’s 12th victory of the season in convincing fashion Monday, beating West Liberty for the second time in 48 hours 59-25. The Hawks would not trail on the night, opening the game on a 12-0 run, they led 17-4 after one quarter. They would use a 19-4 second quarter run to stretch the lead to 36-10 by halftime. In the second half, the lead would grow to as many as 34 in favor of the Hawks. Mid-Prairie was dominant on both sides of the ball, putting West Liberty through a six minute first half scoring drought, an 11 minute drought from the floor and a 22 minute drought from two point range. Mid-Prairie outrebounded the Comets by 18 and forced 15 turnovers. After the game, Golden Hawk head coach Daren Lambert talked about his team’s performance. “Getting guys to buy into that defensive end is important and realizing that when things are going well at that end they become easier on the offensive end.
