Friday’s GoLocal vaccination update provides the most up-to-date information and data on the Rhode Island vaccination program as well as emerging national and global developments.
Just a few hours after Warwick announced that it was taking registrations for a community vaccination for those over 75+, Mayor Frank Picozzi s office announced that all slots were taken.
“I just wanted to inform you the registration for this early phase-out of the COVID-19 vaccine plan for those living in Warwick and who are 75 and older, has been FILLED. The link went live at 2:01 and by 2:31 all 390 slots were booked. Just wanted to let you know,” wrote Picozzi’s spokeswoman Liz Tufts
Hereâs whoâs going to work for the new mayors in Cranston, Warwick, and Central Falls
The new mayors will be sworn in next week, and theyâve already named a few people to their respective staffs.

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – A positive this year… We’ve heard many stories of people paying it forward, and not only because it is the season of giving, but because so many are struggling during the pandemic.
Those acts of kindness spreading here in Rhode Island, including one woman in Warwick who got a surprise while shopping at the grocery store.
“It’s the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me,” said Nikki Santos.
Over the last couple of months, Santos was diagnosed with COVID-19 and says she is still feeling the effects of the virus.
And she is the sole caregiver for her father who is suffering from dementia.

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) – Thursday was a day of digging out of the freshly fallen snow for the people of Rhode Island. But, many simply can’t do that on their own.
In Coventry, disabled and elderly residents received some much needed help… From the town’s “Snow Angel,” who earned that title by clearing cars, driveways, and sidewalks at no cost.
“I am known around Coventry as the snow angel. I’ve been doing this for about three years now, I started when I was in High School. There’s not many people out there like me today,” said 20-year-old David Fournier Jr.
