May 6, 2021 In a plea agreement before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley in Jersey Shore, Tiadaghton Valley Regional police dropped a charge of illegal sale of a firearm against Aidan Sweeley, 21, of Avis, after he agreed to plead guilty to a charge of making unsworn falsification to authorities. The charges stemmed from Sweeley putting down false information on a form when he attempted to purchase a firearm at National Sporting Goods on Allegheny Street in the borough last June 24, police alleged. Sweeley made arrangements to pay a $495 fine plus court costs. In another plea agreement, this one before District Judge William Solomon, Maleak Benjamin, 24, of 1638 Andrews Place, pled guilty to Old Lycoming Township police charges of possession of marijuana and driving without a license, and made arrangements to pay a $250 fine plus court cost.

Apr 21, 2021 In one of several accidents investigated by state police, Jeanne Kehler, 49, of Trout Run, was admitted to UPMC Williamsport with serious injuries she suffered when her car struck a ditch and overturned in the 7000 block of Lycoming Creek Road in Lewis Township about 6:40 p.m. on April 9. Robert Shook, 57, of Montoursville, was treated at UPMC Muncy for injuries he suffered when his car struck two ditches and overturned at Kehrer Hill and Woodley Hollow roads in Mill Creek Township about 4:45 p.m. on April 12, police said. Brandy Whitney, 35, of Jersey Shore, was treated Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital for injuries she suffered when her car and another driven by James Noltee, of Linden, collided on Route 220 at the entrance of Dollar General in Woodward Township about 3:34 p.m. on April 13, police said.
