Northeastern school board member resigns, accuses district of illegal and unethical activity
York Dispatch
After making repeated allegations of illegal and unethical conduct against Northeastern School District officials, Christopher Leh has resigned from the school board, effective immediately.
Leh sent his resignation letter to board Vice President Mike Redding on Friday. In the letter, he referenced his accusations as the reason for his resignation, saying that he did not want to participate in something that is either unethical or illegal. I find the recent behavior of the leadership abhorrent and beyond belief, Leh said in the letter.
Board President Margie Walker said Monday morning she was not aware of Leh s resignation.

If there were a contest for the most haunted city in America, the best-known entries would likely be New Orleans with its voodoo shops and eerie LaLaurie Mansion and Salem, Mass., which hosted witch trials in the late 1600s and now offers ghost tours and a Halloween carnival.
Truth be known, one could easily dismiss these contenders. Dominating the competition would be a relatively obscure community located 20 miles northwest of Minneapolis and about 1,200 miles up the Mississippi River from The Big Easy.
Anoka, Minn., calls itself the Halloween Capital of the World and claims to be the first community to host, in 1920, a Halloween celebration and parade. It continues to honor the holiday, going all out with haunted houses, scarecrow competitions and a colossal illuminated pumpkin atop the city hall. But, as we shall see, bizarre things can happen in Anoka regardless of time of year and with no one in costume.

One of the main outreach organizations for the Twin Ports homeless population has hired a new executive director.
John Cole will head up CHUM starting June 1. He comes to Duluth from Align Minneapolis, a nonprofit that works with people experiencing homelessness there.
A press release said that Align has a similar structure to CHUM. It is also comprised of a variety of congregations.
He was born in the Caribbean and came to Minnesota in 2011. He founded Friends Hotline of Antigua and Barbuda, a nongovernment organization that supports youth in crisis. I have a great appreciation for the human spirit, Cole said in the release. I m passionate about serving and have a calling to serve.
