Rural distribution company, StoreKing (which operates in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra and Telangana), is looking at targeting this consumer by rolling out its supermarket chain in rural India.

Image Source: IANS News Mumbai, April 3 : Investor and founder of D Mart retail chain, Radhakrishna Damani, and his brother, Gopikishna Damani, have bought a two-storey building in south Mumbai for a whopping Rs 1,001 crore. According to the Loksatta website, the deal has been finalised for the property measuring 5752.22 sq mt (61,916 sq ft). The current market price for the property as per the ready-reckoner is around Rs 724 crore and it has been sold by the current owners, Saurabh Mehta, Varsha Mehta and Jayesh Shah.

Avenue Supermarts Q3 net profit rises 16% YoY to Rs 447 crore; Ebitda margin up at 9.1%  New Delhi: Avenue Supermarts, which owns the hyper retail chain DMart, reported 16% rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 447 crore in the December quarter. The Radhakishan Damani-led chain of hypermarkets reported a profit of Rs 384 crore in the same quarter last year. PAT margin stood at 5.9% in Q3FY21 as compared to 5.6% in Q3FY20. Earnings before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) in Q3FY21 stood at Rs.689 crore, as compared to Rs. 597 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. EBITDA margin stood at 9.1% in Q3FY21 as compared to 8.8% in Q3FY20.
