Manitoba COVID-19 Update: 51 New Cases, 52 Recoveries, 3 Deaths

By Ryan Young Public health officials advise three additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today: • a male in his 40s from the Winnipeg health region; • a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region; and • a female in her 90s from the Winnipeg health region. The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 3.8 per cent provincially and 3.2 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 51 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, one case has been removed due to data corrections. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 50 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 32,000.

By Craig Wallebeck Mar 2, 2021 7:43 AM The Melville Millionaires Junior A Hockey Club did not submit a plan to use the ice at the Horizon Credit Union Centre by the City Council imposed deadline of February 22nd. Director of Community Works Chris Bruce says this is mainly due to the current public health restrictions, but did say he remains in talks with the hockey team about what could be done should the SJHL season. Bruce says the arena will continue to operate as normal with the ice scheduled to come out around April 15th.
