The man who headed the Australian Government s fruitless, years-long search for missing flight MH370 has called for a fresh sweep of the ocean floor based on new evidence.
Peter Foley says new research produced by oceanographers and flight experts has pinpointed a possible resting place for the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777, which vanished exactly seven years ago with 239 souls on board, including New Zealander Paul Weeks and six Australians.

‘This is one of the best birthdays I could have ever dreamt of’
Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijju congratulated mountaineer Amgoth Tukaram on his achievements so far including scaling the five highest mountain peaks across continents.
The Minister invited the 21-year-old to his office in New Delhi on Monday, which also happened to be the birthday of the young city-based mountaineer, and advised him to continue to spread the message of environment protection. “I sincerely appreciate your courage and conviction against all odds to achieve such stupendous feats in adventure sports,” the Minister said.

There s a fine line between being merely unprepared and being incredibly stupid. And that line is arguably crossed when you get up at 6am to climb the highest mountain on a continent with only the sketchiest of idea of what that might entail.
Mercifully, Mount Kosciuszko is not quite in the Everest league. And frankly, it s nowhere near the Elbrus or Kilimanjaro league either. Or does it take a proper multi-day thigh-burning, scrambling hike?
