DENVER â A man died after a shooting involving Denver police officers in the Barnum neighborhood Friday afternoon.
The shooting, in the area of W. 1
st Avenue and Perry Street, was reported by Denver police just after 5 p.m. Friday. Police confirmed the man involved is dead.
Officials said via Twitter a âlarge police presenceâ is on scene investigating. Officers on scene said it started as a call for shots fired, with someone shooting a gun into the air near Morrison Road and Ohio Avenue.

MUNCIE, Ind. The Delaware County commissioners and the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission broke ground Thursday on the second phase of the Morrison Road Sidewalk Project.
The first phase of the project started out near Morrison Road; the second phase will add footpaths along the north side of McGalliard Road. The project will help tie into Ball State s trail network, as well as trails near Sugarbush Apartments and the Northest YMCA.
New construction of pathways will allow foot traffic to move safely along McGalliard Road between Tillotson and Oakwood Avenue.
It s common to see people darting across McGalliard, particularly at Walmart and the areas near Ball State s Scheumann Stadium. Traffic moves at a high rate of speed along that stretch, something both phases of the project have looked to address.

Delaware County, IN – People who walk, run or bike on Delaware County’s trails enjoy their recreational opportunities, but also their convenience for access to retail stores, restaurants and other businesses. They appreciate the added safety factor, since trails act as sidewalks along busy streets and roads.
And now the Delaware County commissioners are adding even more trail mileage in one of the area’s most traffic-intensive business districts.
