Author: Allison Sylte Updated: 6:37 PM MDT May 14, 2021 DENVER A man has died after a shooting involving Denver Police officers in the Barnum neighborhood Friday afternoon.  The Denver Police Department (DPD) said the shooting happened in the area of West 1st Avenue and Perry Street.  No officers were injured during the incident. Police were called at around 4:15 p.m. when someone said the suspect was firing gunshots into the air at a playground near Morrison Road and West Ohio Avenue, according to DPD Division Chief Ron Thomas.

Man fatally shot after chase involving Denver police in Barnum neighborhood Friday KMGH and last updated 2021-05-15 12:01:09-04 DENVER – A man died after a shooting involving Denver police officers in the Barnum neighborhood Friday afternoon. The shooting, in the area of W. 1 st Avenue and Perry Street, was reported by Denver police just after 5 p.m. Friday. Police confirmed the man involved is dead. Officials said via Twitter a “large police presence” is on scene investigating. Officers on scene said it started as a call for shots fired, with someone shooting a gun into the air near Morrison Road and Ohio Avenue.
