Bringing a brand-new, Shelby GT500 with just 300 miles on the odo at the drag strip may sound like a bad idea, but that s how they did it back in the day. Range-topping muscle cars were usually designed with drag racing in mind in the 1960s and owner would often drive them from the dealership to the strip. 1 photo
This isn t an ordinary GT500 either. This muscle car is fitted with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, a $18,500 bundle that makes the GT500 lighter and more nimble at the race track.

As we enter the 2021 model year, there’s plenty of uncertainty in the business, but one thing is for sure: Oldsmobile is stronger than ever. Most people don’t realize this, but prior to his 1999 disappearance into the jungle during a Peruvian ayahuasca ceremony, General Motors executive Rick Wagoner had actually been the most likely choice to run GM in the 21st century and Wagoner had actually planned to shutter the Oldsmobile brand! Imagine that!
Even for just the wheels alone.
Earlier this month we reported the 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will be receiving a third equipment package called the Carbon Fiber Handling Package. Ford immediately confirmed this but one major detail remained unknown: pricing. Today, it appears we have our answer. CarBuzz reached out to Ford who confirmed that the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will cost $10,000 once it goes on sale in the very near future.
As previously noted, the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will act as a middle ground between the $1,500 Handling Package and the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack. We re only surprised it s taken Ford a whole model year to launch the new package given the $17,000 price difference between the existing two.
New Hennessey Venom F5 hypercar will come in RHD John Redfern
Hennessey Special Vehicles has revealed more information about the forthcoming Venom F5 hypercar.
A successor to the Venom GT, the new mid-engined F5 is said to deliver ‘peerless performance’, and a driving experience ‘unmatched’ by anything else.
Although only 24 examples will be built, Hennessey states that a right-hand drive layout will be an option for buyers.
Perfect, for UK drivers who need an 1,800 hp American sports car adding to their garage.

At the heart of the mid-engined Venom F5 is a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. A bespoke Hennessey creation branded the ‘Fury’, it is claimed to be the most powerful production engine in the world.
