Chassis number SFM6S2052 is one of those go-faster ponies, and dare I say it it is perfect both inside and out. Assembled in April 1966, the white-and-blue fastback was sold by Universal Motors in Akron, Ohio. Modified by the original owner for drag racing in the 1970s, the two-door coupe was refurbished in 1990 with fresh paint and a few brand-new panels.
The second owner purchased the vehicle in 1991 and an original GT350 engine block with a production date of April 14th, 1966. Fitted to the vehicle in 2018, along with a reproduction exhaust system, the 289 HiPo V8 isn’t the only restoration work the car has received in recent years. Under the previous owner, the chassis and suspension were sandblasted, the frame was repainted, the rear end was powder coated, and the list goes on and on.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a hand-built, supercharged, 5.2-liter aluminum alloy V8 that is mated to a TREMEC seven-speed dual clutch transmission that then channels the power and torque (760 horsepower, 625 pound-foot) to the rear wheels with a carbon fiber driveshaft. Everything about this car is engineered for performance.
And to that end, Ford Performance Parts (Dearborn, Mich., U.S.) has developed four new aftermarket carbon fiber components for the GT500 that are separate from the components making up the Shelby GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Package.

Earlier this month we reported the 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will be receiving a third equipment package called the Carbon Fiber Handling Package. Ford immediately confirmed this but one major detail remained unknown: pricing. Today, it appears we have our answer. CarBuzz reached out to Ford who confirmed that the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will cost $10,000 once it goes on sale in the very near future.
As previously noted, the Carbon Fiber Handling Package will act as a middle ground between the $1,500 Handling Package and the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack. We re only surprised it s taken Ford a whole model year to launch the new package given the $17,000 price difference between the existing two.
