Written By: Donna Middleton | × Bishop Lucker Lecture NEW ULM Johnnette Benkovic Williams will be the speaker for the annual Bishop Lucker Lecture, sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm. Due to the COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, the lecture will broadcast live at 7 p.m. Monday, March 8. She will speak on “The Journey in Faith.” In 1981, after years of being a non-practicing Catholic, Williams experienced a deep conversion back to her Catholic faith that sparked a new vocation one of sharing the Gospel message through the utilization of media. She has been an inspiring and consistent presence on Catholic radio (1987) and in Catholic television (1988) ever since.

Obituary: Theresa Glascock Oct. 27, 1934–Feb. 26, 2021 THERESA ELLEN GLASCOCK Oct. 27, 1934 – Feb. 26, 2021 It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa “Terry” Ellen Glascock (Starkey) announces her passing on February 26, 2021 after a brief illness. Terry was born to Colonel Benjamin and Carrie (Carter) Starkey in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii on October 27, 1934. Because her father was in the Army Air Corps, the family moved frequently throughout her childhood, finally settling in Albuquerque, NM. Terry graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1952. She then attended the University of NM where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education in 1956. Upon graduation she taught first grade at Eubank Elementary School in Albuquerque for a year. In 1957 Terry moved to Los Alamos, NM with her then husband, Robert “Breck” Glascock where she raised four children.

December 22, 1943 - February 9, 2021 Milton, WI - Gloria Ann Bollerud, age 77, departed this life on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at home. Her loving family was at her side and she passed with peace, grace, dignity, and love to the next life. She was born in Janesville at Mercy Hospital on December 22, 1943, the daughter of Joseph Jerome and Mary Catherine (Hopper) Link. Gloria attended and graduated with the last 9th grade class at St. Patrick Catholic School in 1959, and Janesville Senior High School in June 1962. She later graduated from Marvel Accredited Beauty Culture in Milwaukee as a cosmetologist in July 1963. From there she went on to work at Mary-Grace Beauty shop and later Kathy s Korner Beauty Shop, Janesville. Gloria was united in marriage to Rodney Martin Bollerud on Saturday, September 7, 1968 in a noon nuptial High Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Howard Finnegan officiating.

Feb 13, 2021 Florenz “Flo” Raymond Kapaun, 89, died after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames surrounded by family. Due to the COVID pandemic, a private family service and interment will be held. A public celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Mass of Christian Burial will be live streamed at Anderson Funeral Homes Facebook page at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Israel Family Hospice House or the Northridge Village Commons Activity Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
