MHSAA Volleyball Returns Tuesday, Four SW Michigan Teams Remain The continued effort to complete the Michigan High School Athletic Association s fall sports schedule continues this week with the final week of Girls Volleyball statewide. The postseason for volleyball was stopped in mid-November, just before the final three rounds were set to be completed. After two whole months and the pilot program for COVID-19 testing in place for the fall sports, the sport s tournament will continue with its State Finals coming this Saturday, January 16 th. The good news is that the venue for the State Semifinals and Finals will remain the same as it has since the first Fall season of Girls Volleyball in 2007. Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek will host the Semifinal rounds on Thursday, January 14

Charles Chuck Lahr – Manchester – Mix 94 7 KMCH

Charles “Chuck” Joseph  Lahr, 73, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at the Sisters of Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha of military service-related cancer. He was born on February 9, 1947, the son of Peter and Irene (Braun) Lahr at the family farm north of Manchester during a blizzard. Chuck was the 3 rd son and 8 th child of ten children.  He attended St. Mary School in Manchester and Manchester High School. In 1966 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Chuck was with the 101 st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles” and was a paratrooper. He was a Vietnam Veteran spending a year in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in May, 1968. Chuck then attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated with his Associates Degree in Arts and Sciences in 1972.
