MERIDENÂ â A Wallingford man faces charges after police said a woman reported he broke into the house while she was home.Â
Jonathan Walker, 35, of 7 Elm St., Wallingford, was charged Saturday with first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.Â
Police responded to 5 Dee Ave., on Saturday around 9 p.m. for a report of a burglary in progress, Lt. John Mennone said in a statement Monday. A woman was hiding in the closet of her home and said she heard someone inside.Â

MERIDENÂ â A local man faces weapon and drug charges after police said he fled from officers following a car crash early Wednesday.
Julian Dudley, 27, of 36 Webster St., 3rd Floor, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle, no pistol permit, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of narcotics, and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.Â
On Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. a patrol officer saw an erratic driver but lost sight of the vehicle as it tried to elude the officer on South Colony Road, Sgt. Darrin McKay said in a release. MERIDEN â Three men face charges after police said they were found in a car with a loaded firearm after a report of gunshots on Thursday.
Markeese Thompson, 20, of 55 Park St., was charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 Xavier Oliveira, 18, of 174 Dogwood Lane, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, and carrying a pistol without a permit.Â

Hamden police found dead animals, rats, squirrels, a blind owl and dozens of other animals at a Hamden home and have charged a woman with cruelty to animals.
Police and animal control responded to a home on Blue Hills Avenue in Hamden on Oct. 26 and said they found two large rats and taxidermic animals and seized 26 cats, two caged squirrels, a blind owl and six dogs, including one that was clinging to life.
Police said they also found three dead animals, including two cats and a woodchuck.
Donna Scirocco, 59, turned herself in on Tuesday and she was charged with six counts of cruelty to animals. She was detained on a court-ordered $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 5.
