During the pandemic lockdown, many outdoor areas saw heavy traffic as people were doing socially distant activities.
A $20,000 grant will help MVC restore those heavily used areas.
The money is going towards tool kits for hikers to help maintain the trails they use, as well as training sessions.
“They can come to the nature preserves where they’re at as a family, open up the kit, and actually help restore the land and make sure the trails and nature preserves continue to be a beautiful place for all of us to enjoy for years to come,” says Executive Director of the La Crosse Community Foundation Jamie Schloegel.
