LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – It’s prime hiking season in Wisconsin and prime time to join in on the “Trail Trek Challenge.”
The challenge is a free hiking program that encourages nature fans to hike around nature preserves in the Driftless Area.
The year-long program also includes a treasure hunt.
Hikers can use downloadable maps to find nature’s treasures along trails.
The La Crosse Public Library is also organizing monthly hikes as part of their summer programs.
Childrens Librarian Celine Donofrio says getting outside as a family is important.
