Friday’s Hickory Crawdads game against the Asheville Tourists was suspended in the second inning due to rain. Saturday, a doubleheader was scheduled, but never even started due to storms in Asheville. Sunday, however, the two teams were able to play a doubleheader with Hickory losing in walk-off fashion 9-8 on the first game but wining the nightcap, 2-1.
In the first game, Asheville jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the fourth inning. Hickory got on the board in the sixth inning with two runs. Blaine Crim opened the inning getting hit by a pitch. Trey Hair was then walked. David Garcia then doubled, allowing Crim to score and Hair land on third. Miguel Aparicio was walked to load the bases.
