MADISON, Wis. â The pressure is on parents to find ways to get their kids back up to speed after more than a year of virtual learning. If they donât find a way to get their kid caught up this summer, their child will likely fall even further behind in the fall.
âTheyâre calling it the COVID slide,â said tutor Priscilla Gresens. âThe virtual learning, it didnât work.â
Gresens, the assistant director at the Arnold Reading Clinic, is currently tutoring more than a dozen students. She said the group had to hire more tutors to handle the high demand during the pandemic.
MADISON, Wis. An event geared toward teaching kids how to ride on two wheels pedaled back into Madison on Sunday, with new programming.

This year, organizers introduced Special Accommodations classes, meant to benefit kids with disabilities. These classes are smaller in capacity and allow for extra course practice time and more guidance from earn 2 Ride staff.
The next Learn 2 Ride event is on Sunday, June 27 at Memorial High School. For more information, visit mscr.org.
