MADISON, Wis. â The pressure is on parents to find ways to get their kids back up to speed after more than a year of virtual learning. If they donât find a way to get their kid caught up this summer, their child will likely fall even further behind in the fall.
âTheyâre calling it the COVID slide,â said tutor Priscilla Gresens. âThe virtual learning, it didnât work.â
Gresens, the assistant director at the Arnold Reading Clinic, is currently tutoring more than a dozen students. She said the group had to hire more tutors to handle the high demand during the pandemic.
