LANSDALEÂ â They may not have made many headlines lately, but Lansdale s Human Relations Commission members have been hard at work.Â
Borough council heard an update from that commission recently, including their first-ever request for taxpayer dollars, and what they can do with those funds. We just recently submitted a budget proposal for the remainder of 2021, and we re looking forward to council reviewing, and hopefully approving, that budget, said HRC chairperson Aurelia Henry.

Lansdale s Human Relations Commission was created in August 2018 to field and rule on complaints regarding discrimination due to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, and commission members were appointed at the end of that year. Since then, group members have set up a dedicated page on the borough s website, fielded formal complaints, and taken part in local events including a Juneteenth solidarity march in June 2020 and Black Lives Matte
NORRISTOWN â Montgomery Countyâs daily new cases of the coronavirus fell well below 100 for the eleventh consecutive day on Tuesday, another sign that the virus is being suppressed in the county as vaccinations increase.
The 59 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Tuesday brought the countyâs total number of positive cases to 58,581 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the countyâs COVID-19 online dashboard. One of the daily new cases was an individual residing in a long-term care facility and one case was reported among inmates at the county jail.
NORRISTOWN â Montgomery County recorded nearly three dozen new coronavirus cases and two more deaths on Wednesday, according to the latest daily report issued by county health officials.
The 33 daily new positive COVID-19 cases reported in the county on Wednesday brought the countyâs total number of positive cases to 58,610 since March 7, 2020, when the first two cases of the virus were identified in the county, according to the countyâs COVID-19 online dashboard.
