Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported today that an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police has led to the arrest of a Ewing man for aggravated manslaughter.
Officials said Mr. Justin Wilkes, 21, was arrested and charged Tuesday evening with first-degree aggravated manslaughter and third-degree endangering an injured victim.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ A 23-year-old Trenton woman is dead following an overnight shooting in Hamilton,
Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri has announced.
According to Onofri, Hamilton Township police responded to a shooting at the 7-11 on Lalor Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. where they located the victim, identified as 23-year-old Katherine Montenegro on the ground in the parking lot suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Montenegro was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

EAST WINDSOR A man charged with starving to death his 7-year-old pit bull will avoid going to jail because New Jersey law does not consider animal abuse a violent crime.
Matthew Wydrinski, 36, of East Windsor, posted on the internet looking for help with a sick dog, which police later said died.
Wydrinski was hit with third-degree charges of animal cruelty for failing to provide the animal with necessary care, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri.
After pleading not guilty, Wydrinski applied for pre-trial intervention, which allows first-time non-violent offenders to avoid incarceration. Wydrinski had no prior criminal record, according to the prosecutor.

A Mercer County man was arrested Friday and charged with murder based in part on video from body-worn police cameras captured at the scene after the killing.
Dion Duncan, 24, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Bristol, Pennsylvania, where he allegedly fled after the fatal shooting of Ramire Havery last month.
Duncan is charged with first-degree murder, weapons possession and receiving stolen property, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.
