GHAZIABAD: A 30-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly kidnapping two siblings, both minors, from Masuri area in Ghaziabad.
Police said the youth has been identified as Arvind Kumar, a resident of Lakhimpur. He used to work as a labourer but has been without a job for the past few days, police said.
On Wednesday night, Raju, a resident of Ambedkar Colony in Masuri, lodged a police complaint alleging that his three-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son had been kidnapped.
He said that around 8 pm on Wednesday, his son Prince and daughter Naini went to a nearby shop to buy a packet of biscuits. When they did not return even after 8.40 pm, the family started looking for the children.
Victim says she was abducted while returning home from work
A saleswoman was raped by three men in Hapur, 70 km from Delhi, when she was returning from work in Ghaziabad to her residence in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Wednesday night, police said.
The Hapur police have registered an FIR against three unidentified men under Section 376D of the IPC.
Till Friday evening, no breakthrough has been made by the police in the case.
According to Sarvesh Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Hapur, the 30-year-old said in her complaint that she was returning from work in a departmental store in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad in an auto. “At Lal Kuan border of Ghaziabad, she changed the auto. After one passenger got down, the driver and his two accomplices overpowered her, took her to a secluded spot in Pilakhwa area of Hapur and sexually assaulted her.”
MEERUT: A 30-year-old Noida woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped while returning from work on Wednesday night.
According to the FIR registered at Pilkahua police station in Hapur district, the woman works at a departmental store in Indirapuram area and was returning home from work when the incident happened. The woman used to change two auto-rickshaws- one from Indirapuram to Lal Kuan and another to reach her home in Noida after work. As per her complaint, the incident happened on Wednesday night at around 9pm when she took an auto from Lal Kuan in Ghaziabad, Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, Hapur superintendent of police said.
