There are a few options when it comes to buying a Flair; they re all more or less the same device with add-ons and slight upgrades, they re all manual and portable, and they range from about $120 to $300. The one I use and recommend is the more affordable Neo, which has no pressure gauge or fancy attachments. It might not be as foolproof as other setups, but you ll get the feel for it with a bit of practice. Depending on how serious you want to get, you can purchase a slightly more durable option like the Pro 2, which comes with a larger brew head, a stainless steel piston, and a pressure gauge.
Women-owned New York City-based roaster and retailer Coffee Project New York has launched a scholarship program that will provide Specialty Coffee Association-certified training to six Black coffee professionals.
With tuition covered by program partner Chobani, which recently made a play of its own in the coffee game, each of the six scholarships will involve Coffee Project New York’s comprehensive barista training program. Participating baristas will also receive a Breville Barista Pro espresso machine.
The two-full-day program draws upon the SCA’s virtual Coffee Skills Program as certified by the SCA, including the courses “Introduction to Coffee” and “Barista Skills Foundation.” The courses will delve into espresso skills, grinding skills, milk techniques, health and safety, customer service, and basic business practices.

The pour-over coffee brewing method has been around for decades and it is still considered by coffee professionals to be the premier method for brewing a divine cup of coffee.
Aharon Coffee founder Aharon Vaknin enjoys at least one pour-over a dayânot just for the wonderful tasting resulting cup of coffee, but also because he deeply enjoys the ritual.
