On Mother's Day, Church inaugurates new shelter for victims of domestic violence

Newsbook Church.mt/photos The Church has inaugurated a new shelter for women who were victims of domestic violence and their children. The inauguration held on Mother’s Day was presided over by Archbishop Charles Scicluna. Il-Milja, a second stage shelter which will be run by Fondazzjoni Sebħ, will welcome women who have experienced abuse or violence including victims of domestic violence, victims of human trafficking, women forced into prostitution or forced to have an abortion. The second-stage shelter includes 12 apartments which will welcome a total of 36 individuals and is located within Dar Ġesù Nazzarenu in Żejtun. Church.mt/photos
