NAVI MUMBAI: Noted infotech entrepreneur Bhupesh Gupta, who was heading the broadband company D-Vois SSV, died due severe Covid-19 complications early on Wednesday. He was 56.
Gupta had actively helped out hundreds of migrant workers who were stuck at the Cidco Exhibition Centre in Vashi during the initial lockdown period last year.
Former Vashi corporator Raju Shinde, a close friend of Gupta, said: ``We are all shocked by the sudden demise of Bhupesh Gupta, who was a very hardworking man, and had single-handedly built his D-Vois SSV broadband company which employs close to 1,000 staffers in various branches. I personally knew him for over 35 years, since the time he was in Mumbai. He (Gupta) would often say that whatever wealth we earn should be put back to some good use.
