NAVI MUMBAI: The adult crocodile which was recently spotted in the marshy area behind NMMC head-office building in Belapur was successfully trapped and rescued by the forest officials on Tuesday morning.
The Thane range forest officer (RFO) Narendra Muthe, said, We had recently got reports about the presence of a large crocodile in the Belapur area. With the help of NGO WWA, a cage trap was laid in order to catch the crocodile. It will now be released in another safe location.
Aditya Patil of Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) said, The rescued crocodile is 6.43 feet long and weighs 35kg.
