On May 1, Anthony Petrone was found to have a “large homemade explosive device” in his backpack in a Dollar Store, police said. The Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device and Explosives Section was called in and safely removed the device, borough police said. The borough had been “plagued with random explosions,” a news release said, and, after the initial contact with Petrone, led to state and borough police serving the warrant in the 300 block of First Street.
