OUTDOOR ARTS FESTIVAL & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ART EXHIBITION Saturday, May 15th, 10:00am 3:00pm, Elm Grove Woman’s Club Everyone is invited to enjoy a special treat at the Elm Grove Woman’s Club on Saturday, May 15th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It’s the Springtime in the Grove Art Festival offering a selection of art, gifts, collectables, delectable treats and more. Check out a bountiful sale of bakery and colorful planters. Stay for a delicious lunch hot off the grill accompanied by a cool beverage. Not to be missed, stroll through the exhibit of student art entered in the Elm Grove Woman’s club annual Art Scholarship Competition. Cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award and stay for the Awards Ceremony at 2:30 pm. The outdoor event and the art exhibit will be held at the Woman’s Club, 13885 Watertown Plank Road. No, I donât mean that there are 10 new coal mines opening throughout the county, nor am I writing to announce the plans for some manufacturing plant that will employ hundreds of our countyâs young citizens. However, things seem to be looking a bit better.

Take, for instance, the year of 1953 as I drew my first breath of air and screamed when my mother gave birth to me at the old Holden Hospital. BELLOWS FALLS â With COVID-19 restrictions, Bellows Falls Womanâs Club popular May Tea fundraiser has been canceled for the second year. To support ongoing projects such as local scholarships and awards, womenâs health and domestic violence awareness, and community improvements, the BFWC has teamed up with the Village Square Booksellers and Friends of the Rockingham Public Library to offer Wind Beneath Our Wings, a tribute to those who have helped people through these difficult pandemic months.
Wind Beneath Our Wings provides origami paper cranes crafted by Womanâs Club members. For a suggested donation of $5, donors can tag cranes with the name of an honoree.
Burnley Council has conducted a review of its community lateral flow rapid Covid testing sites. From this week it has introduced changes as a result. Testing is no longer being provided from the Gannow Community Centre or Barden Boys and Girls Club centres but the sites will still supply home testing kits for anyone to access. Testing using lateral flow devices remains available from the Central Methodist Church (behind Burnley Town Hall) three days a week. It is open on Mondays from 9am to noon; on Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm; and on Saturdays from 9am to noon. A Burnley Council spokesman said: The review follows a reduction in the number of visits to the testing centres, reflecting the wider rollout of home testing and accessibility of DIY testing kits.
