Monica Schmucker Elected President of Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club Fort Myers, FL, April 10, 2021 (PR.com) The law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that litigation attorney Monica Schmucker has been elected President of Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club. As described on www.fmb-wc.org, “the mission of the Woman’s Club is to support educational and recreational activities for non-profit and charitable organizations operating with the greater Fort Myers Beach community.”
In her first one-year term as President of the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club, Schmucker will take the helm focusing on fundraising efforts and oversee ongoing renovations to the historic “clubhouse.” Once complete, it will allow the building to be used as a rental venue for weddings, receptions, and corporate events. Ann Sue McCormick, 82, of Williamsport, died unexpectedly, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at home. Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Jay H. McCormick, whom she married July 1, 1962.
Born July 10, 1938, in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Diebler) Bingaman.
Ann Sue was a 1956 graduate of Elizabethville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lycoming College in 1960. She became employed as an elementary school teacher in the Hershey Area School District, and later at Four Mile Elementary School in Loyalsock. When her children became teenagers, Ann Sue earned her real estate license to work as an agent for Fish Real Estate for many years, where she was recognized by the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service Medallion Club. She finished her career where she began her collegiate schooling, spending six years as Lycoming College’s Director of Alumni and Parent programs, where she launched the “Pave the Way” Alumni
Starting with Park Rx Day on Saturday, April 17, the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area (AMNHA) will participate in National Parks Week, eight days of celebration of different aspects of the National Park System in general and the AMNHA in particular. The week will culminate with a National Junior Ranger Day scavenger hunt on April 24, an outdoor exploration of the nature and history found throughout the National Heritage Area. Sign-up is free, and the first 50 registrants will receive some extra prizes when they check in.
Beginning at the Lithonia Womanâs Club (2564 Wiggins St.), the Junior Ranger Day scavenger hunt will take participants across the National Heritage Area where they will look for clues hidden in the landscape to earn their Junior Ranger Badge. After participants pick up their scavenger hunt materials at the Womanâs Club, they will spend some time in historic downtown Lithonia before heading off across the AMNHA.
