Pune: The district added 578 fresh cases of Covid yesterday, pushing the case tally to 3, 74,280. The death toll in the Pune district is around 9,000.
557 patients were discharged from different hospitals across Pune district after complete recovery. This has brought the total number of patients cured of Covid in the district to 3, 60,432. There are 2,255 active Covid patients in PMC limits, of whom 206 are serious and around 300 are on oxygen support, under treatment in Pune hospitals.

Unidentified people have been booked for calling two Maharashtra officials after posing as Central government figures and trying to garner information about metro rail contracts in Pune, police said on Tuesday.
A top Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation official received a call last month in which the person on the other end, who introduced himself as a Housing and Urban Affairs bureaucrat, sough contract details of metro works, a Koregaon Park police station official said.

Pune: The district registered a fall in the number of recipients for Covid vaccination on Day 2 of the vaccination programme.
Of the around 3,000 recipients, 1,403 have been vaccinated, 1,302 did not come and 107 refused. Four people from Pune district developed minor AEFI to the vaccine. Pune district administration wants to vaccinate at least 100 people at each site.
The PCMC-run Jijamata Hospital could register just six recipients on Day 2. The primary health centre registered the highest number on January 18. Three session centres, Noble and Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Bharati Hospital in PMC limits were removed from the earlier list of 31 session centre

Pune: The National Defence Academy and the Military Hospital under itit at Khadakwasla, rolled out a Covid vaccination drive for healthcare and frontline staff yesterday.
The drive would address people from the defence establishments here and adjacent Girinagar region, including 2,000 cadets of NDA.

Pune: Private hospitals in the city are upset with the delay in the receipt of the list of vaccine beneficiaries. PMC health authorities yesterday said that software-related problems had affected the efforts to set up vaccination centres at private hospitals.
Dr Ashish Bharti, the medical chief of the civic body told The Indian Express, “We have sent the list of beneficiaries to be vaccinated at Sassoon Hospital and three corporation-run hospitals. The list of beneficiaries for the four private hospitals in the city is yet to be sent.”
