The Kandiyohi County Sheriff s Office received the report of the crash about 4:27 p.m. Tuesday. According to a news release from the Sheriff s Office, the teen was operating a 2015 Arctic Cat ZR4000 when she lost control on the northeast side of Green Lake as she was heading across the lake.

Heath Cowper, 41, of Wolfeboro, N.H., had been riding on the ice when he lost control, rolled the snowmobile, and was thrown approximately 30 feet into a large rock, officials said in a press release. Cowper suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The cause of the accident is under investigation, “however speed and the lack of a helmet appear to be contributing factors,” Fish and Game officials said in the release.
