Three people seriously injured in snowmobile accidents in New Hampshire Emily Sweeney
Three people including a 20-year-old Massachusetts man were hurt in two separate snowmobile accidents in New Hampshire over the weekend, authorities said.
At approximately 6 p.m. Saturday, New Hampshire Fish and Game officials were notified of a snowmobile accident on the Smith River in Wolfeboro. Heath Cowper, 41, of Wolfeboro, N.H., had been riding on the ice when he lost control, rolled the snowmobile, and was thrown approximately 30 feet into a large rock, officials said in a press release. Cowper suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The cause of the accident is under investigation, “however speed and the lack of a helmet appear to be contributing factors,” Fish and Game officials said in the release.

CROYDON, NH On Sunday, the New Hampshire Fish and Game reported a man and woman were seriously injured in a snowmobile crash on private property in Croydon. At approximately 1 p.m., a snowmobile operated by Anna Sandell, 21, of Portola Valley, CA, and her passenger, Jack McMahon, 20, of Hamilton, MA, collided with boulders when she lost control while traveling down a hill, NH Conservation Officer James Cyrs III said.
