Update - Drones used in search for New London teenager returned home after being reported missing Wednesday A 13-year-old juvenile female was returned home after multiple agencies responded to a report of her missing Wednesday night. 9:32 am, Jan. 28, 2021 × NEW LONDON A 13-year-old juvenile female was returned home Wednesday night in Kandiyohi County after her parents reported her missing, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple agencies responded to the call around 9 p.m. on the 7000 block of 199th Avenue Northeast. Kandiyohi County Chief Deputy Julie Wyffels wrote in an email that drones from the Willmar Police Department and Kandiyohi County Emergency Management were used to search the surrounding area, with members of the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad assisting with manpower.

Rose Peterson, 60, of Brooklyn Park, died Saturday evening after she and two family members traveling in an ATV fell through thin ice on Kabekona Lake, about 8 miles northwest of Walker. Riding in the ATV with Peterson were her husband, Kenneth, and a 29-year-old daughter, while her 36-year-old son and another family member followed on snowmobiles. Peterson s son pulled all three out of the water after the ATV plunged into about 18 feet of water.
