It’s not like the League had a real season to begin with.
Only six OJHL clubs have played in 58 exhibition games this season. Regional Public Health Unit regulations made it next to impossible to get any real games going around the province.
In August 2020, the OJHL developed a comprehensive “Return to the Rink” procedural plan with strict protocols which were presented and approved by the OHF for Junior hockey to be used in each of the leagues under the OHA.
These protocols have been followed for all of the exhibition play within the association that have taken place this season with the safety of all those who were able to participate taken very seriously.

Golfers out in droves
By Brian Lockhart
With so many sports restricted or cancelled this year, golf has seen a big surge in popularity.
Local golf courses were doing a lot of business over the weekend when Saturday provided the perfect day to get outdoors and hit the ball around.
Both courses and driving ranges were filled to capacity.
Since golf is an inherently physically distancing sport, it was not place on the restricted list during the provincial stay-at-home order.
Many golf courses across the province are reporting record numbers of golfers and are booking tee times well in advance to meet the demand.

One of the few sports available
By Brian Lockhart
The fact that tennis as a sport creates inherent physical distancing means the courts at the Orangeville Tennis Club are open for the season.
However, that doesn’t mean the Club is operating without restrictions.
There is currently no inter-club play and some programs and activities have either been cancelled or delayed this season due to the current province-wide ‘stay-at-home’ order.
Clubs in Ontario can not cross health district boundaries to play matches with other clubs in the region.
The Orangeville Club usually takes part in matches with other nearby tennis clubs.

If you’re old enough to remember when a telephone was mounted on a wall and had actual bells that clanged like a fire alarm, you probably remember it was somewhat of an event when the telephone rang.
If you were in a typical family dwelling, the call would go out, “Harry, it’s for you!”
There was also an unwritten rule regarding acceptable times to call someone.
If you knew your friend started work at the local factory at 6:00 a.m., you probably wouldn’t call them after nine o’clock. The same went for people with small children who were already asleep.
