Some trails closed after snowmobilers cross health district boundaries

January 28, 2021   ·   0 Comments By Brian Lockhart While snowmobilers in the Orangeville region have had success getting out on the trails this season, other nearby clubs have had a tough time as many trails are closed to riding due to a lack of a good snow base. Some trails in nearby districts have been opened with limited results.  If local riders want to keep riding they should pay attention to a recent decision in the north end of the province.  Some trails have been closed after it was found that riders were trailering their vehicles to other districts and crossing over to health district boundaries.

Island Lake still offers outdoor fun but restrictions apply

January 28, 2021   ·   0 Comments By Brian Lockhart Most indoor activities have been cancelled or restricted around the province, however the great outdoors is still available for all sorts of fun and exercise.  The Island Lake Conservation Area is open to visitors, however there still are restrictions in place if your are going to visit and you should be aware of rules in the park.  The lake is frozen over with an adequate amount of ice to allow ice fishing. The lake has seen a lot of activity from winter anglers since conditions made venturing out onto the ice a safe activity.  If you plan on doing some ice fishing you should be prepared to bring all your own equipment. There are no hut or equipment rentals this year. You must have a valid Ontario fishing license and be prepared to produce it if required.

Meet the new boss | Orangeville Citizen

He has a lot of experience in politics, and at the very least, he seems to be able to appear presidential in terms of conducting himself in a place of high office.
