INDIANA MAN DEAD FOLLOWING PURSUIT BY AUTHORITIES INTO ILLINOIS

(EFFINGHAM) The Illinois State Police have updated the report on the death of an Indiana man in Clark County this past Monday night after a vehicular pursuit by Indiana authorities. As the vehicle driver, 32 year old Brandon Shockley from Indianapolis, Indiana, crossed into Illinois on I-70, being pursued by multiple Indiana law enforcement agencies, Shockley car began disabled with flat tires after stop sticks were deployed along the highway. The vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in the I-70 ditch near milepost 153 in Clark County. Indiana law enforcement officers gave Shockley verbal commands to surrender at which time a gun shot was fired from inside the vehicle. An autopsy yesterday determined Shockley died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. No Illinois State Police officers were on the scene at the time of the shooting, nor were any law enforcement personnel injured during the incident. Shockley was

Mary Castle School Shooter Believed Dead After Chase Into Illinois TERRE HAUTE, Ind. A man wanted in the shooting of a parent outside an elementary school in Indianapolis is believed to be dead after a police chase near Terre Haute. IMPD detectives say Brandon Shockley was the man who shot the parent at Mary Castle Elementary School. Detectives tracked down a car similar to one that Shockley used to get away on westbound I-70 in Terre Haute. The driver refused to stop and tried to flee police, used stop sticks to try to bring the car to a stop. The driver kept going at slower speeds into Illinois after hitting stop sticks and eventually went off into a ditch.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were alerted by state police on Monday to be on the lookout for an attempted murder suspect driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu.  Indianapolis police confirmed the wanted man was 32-year-old Brandon Shockley, accused of shooting a woman outside Mary Castle Elementary School on Friday afternoon.  Vigo Sheriff s officials said a deputy near mile marker 7 saw the car at about 10:30 p.m. Monday and followed it westbound. Sheriff John Plasse in a statement on Facebook said state police set up tire-deflating stop sticks near the state line, and the Chevrolet Malibu continued into Illinois at a reduced speed.

PEORIA (WEEK) - Allison Gonzales got her dog Buddy when she was in 6th grade. Now in her twenties, the two have spent over a decade together. Her family adopted Buddy after her dog died, as a way to help her emotionally. Buddy was found abandoned in a house, and was then adopted. Monday, Gonzales took Buddy for a routine grooming session at Petco on Sheridan Road in Peoria. While the nearly 20-year-old dog was getting a bath, the grooming salon leader knew something was off. She rushed Buddy over to Gonzales who was at the checkout counter. Buddy was having a seizure.
