WAND-TV reports that two of the four inmates who escaped the Fulton County Jail last night have been recaptured by authorities. 22 year old Eugene Roets was captured in the Peoria area at 3:30 this afternoon. At 6:45PM, 34 year old Jesse Davis was captured in the Farmington area. Davis had been reported earlier by witness who said he was in the Farmington area after a van was reported stolen earlier this morning. At 8:30 this evening, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Farmington Police Department, Canton Police Department, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois Department Of Natural Resources, other area law enforcement, Illinois State Police, Federal Marshals’ Office and Homeland Security have completed searching areas around Farmi

Streator man facing child pornography charges

Cook – Photo LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office STREATOR – A Streator man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by multiple agencies.  On Wednesday the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation arrested 41-year-old Ryan P. Cook for two counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography, both Class X Felonies. ISP Investigators, along with Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, US Secret Service, and the Illinois Attorney General’s High-Tech Crimes Bureau, executed a search warrant at Cook’s residence in the 400 block of West Grant Street, and allegedly located and observed child pornography being shared on multiple electronic devices leading to the arrest.

Illinois River remains ID ed as missing Peorian Jon Perry Hutcherson

PEORIA  Remains found last year in the Illinois River were confirmed Thursday to be those of Jon Perry L. Hutcherson, who went missing in Peoria in 2019. Hutcherson was last seen on Nov. 27, 2019, after leaving his apartment in the 700 block of Northeast Adams Street.  Nine months later, bones were found on the bank of the Illinois River near Glasford, and additional remains were found nearby after a search. An initial examination indicated those remains did not match those of anyone missing locally. But after a variety of examinations, including DNA testing, they were positively identified Wednesday as belonging to Hutcherson, the Peoria Police Department, Peoria County Sheriff s Department and Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said in a joint news release.
