They said that Public Instruction Colleges in Punjab Directorate has issued orders that no professor in government service will teach in any private college or tuition centre. However, students alleged that many professors of the university have not only opened their tuition academies but some mark attendance in the campus and go to teach in private colleges. Professors being public servants are barred from taking up private jobs while in service. In this regard, it will be necessary to obtain permission from the competent authority.

He also said that the PTI government was responsible for the prevailing inflation in the country that had skyrocketed since it came to power in 2018. He said the rates of petroleum and gas increased many times compared to the tenures of past governments during two and a half years.

Interviews for selection of VCs conclude Govt formed separate committees to recommend suitable candidates for four universities LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has completed interviews for filling the vacant posts of the vice chancellors (VCs) of four public sector universities in the province. As many as 164 candidates were interviewed by the committees for the appointments. According to officials of the department, four new VCs would be appointed in the province’s universities. The posts are vacant in the University of Chakwal, Kohsar University Murree, Baba Guru Nanak University Nankana Sahib and University of Mianwali. “A total of 226 candidates applied for the posts of VC, out of which 164 candidates were shortlisted for interviews,” an official of the department told The Express Tribune.
