LAA members honoured in Royal Aero Club awards

The achievements of LAA members at both ends of the age spectrum have been recognised by the annual awards issued by the Royal Aero Club.
Seventeen year-old Ellie Carter, a key member of the LAA’s Youth and Education Support Group, YES, has been awarded the President’s Breitling Certificate for her work in promoting younger people in aviation.

Ernie Horsfall, who at 102 years of age remains an active LAA inspector, received a RAeC Silver Medal for his work as one of the UK’s experts on Jodel aircraft.

Shooting survivor evacuated to Timika hospital: police 9th February 2021

(ANTARA News Papua/HO-Papua Police) Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - A civilian who was reportedly shot at close range by an armed rebel in Bilogai village of Sugapa sub-district, Intan Jaya district, Papua was evacuated to Timika Public Hospital in Mimika district on Tuesday.
The man, identified by his initials as RNR, was shot at 5:30 p.m. on Monday and sustained gunshot wounds on the face and right shoulder, Papua Police spokesperson, Sen.Coms.Ahmad Musthafa Kamal, said.
The 32-year-old was admitted to the village s public health center for emergency treatment not long after the incident, he informed.

The funeral procession is planned to take place at the Cikutra Heroes Cemetery on Sunday morning Bandung, W Java (ANTARA) - The coffin of Private Roy Vebrianto who died of a gunshot wound following a gunfight with several armed Papuan criminals on Friday, arrived at the mourning house in Baleendah Subdistrict, Bandung District, West Java, on Saturday evening.
The fallen soldier s coffin was transported by a military ambulance to the mourning house, located in Bumi Sari Indah I residence, to be buried at the Cikutra Heroes Cemetery on Sunday morning.

WEST JAVA: Indonesia will soon have a new police chief with the House of Representatives (DPR) approving Com.Gen.Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the successor to General Idham Azis, who retires on February 1, 2021.
Prabowo, who was nominated by President Joko Widodo as Azis’ successor, underwent a fit-and-proper test at the House’s Commission III, which oversees legal affairs, on Wednesday (January 20).
