The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on Friday (19 February) opened the technical bids for the construction of Sabarmati Maintenance depot for 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed rail project, popularly known as the Bullet Train project, in which nine companies participated.
The NHSRCL, which is the implementing agency of the bullet train project, said that it had invited bids for the preparatory works for the subsequent construction of the Sabarmati maintenance depot for MAHSR corridor on 22 October last year.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for executing the country s first bullet train project, invited technical bids for the construction of the Sabarmati maintenance depot for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. According to a statement shared by NHSRCL, the technical bids opened on Friday, February 19. A total of nine bidders participated in the process and the submitted bids will go through an evaluation process in the next stage. A National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contractor has created a world record on Monday (01 February) for laying Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) for a four-lane highway of 2,580 meters length within 24 hours, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways said in a statement.
The record is part of the greenfield Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai 8-lane Expressway project, and was carried out by the worldâs largest fully automatic ultra-modern concrete paver machine.
Starting at 8 o clock in the morning on 1st February 2021, they finished the job of laying approximately 10.32 thousand lane meters by 8 am next day.
