Apart from infusion of liquidity, developers have made a demand that some reforms be introduced to cut down project cycles via introduction of single-window clearances and granting an industry status to real estate. Builders affiliated to Credai and Naredco have also demanded that the input credit regime be integrated in the GST regime for the residential sector with transferrable benefits to buyers, apart from reduction in stamp duty.

The Noida Authority has installed CCTV cameras at Chilla border NOIDA: Farmers trying to enter Noida to join the protest will not be allowed to come into the city from now and they will only be allowed to move towards Ghazipur via Noida Extension, Gautam Budh Nagar police said on Friday. Police in Greater Noida had placed barricades at Zero Point and Luharli toll plaza on Thursday night and stepped up vigil along the Yamuna Expressway. The police said if the farmers travel through the expressway and parts of Gautam Budh Nagar, they will not be allowed to move towards Noida. They would be directed towards Ghazipur.

In a major policy decision, the state government on Friday gifted the Noida Authority some 80 villages, which were previously under the jurisdiction of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), for further expansion. Though the Authority has 20,316 hectares under its jurisdiction, only a limited portion of land is currently left for further expansion. Hence, more land was being scouted by the Authority officials. However with no direct connect, the 80 villages 60 in the neighbouring Bulandshahr district and 20 in Gautam Budh Nagar will have to be developed like a satellite city, Authority officials said.

A total of 3,502 healthcare workers (HCWs) got inoculated at 53 session sites. Dr Neeraj Tyagi, district immunisation officer (DIO) and in-charge of Covid vaccination process in GB Nagar, said that the turnout was much better on Friday compared to the last two rounds. “While there were glitches in the Co-WIN in the first half of the day, things improved in the second half,” said Tyagi, who also got vaccinated on Friday. Sharda hospital, which saw the lowest turnout of 11% on January 22 and 26% on January 28, managed to improve its numbers on Friday and registered a 98% turnout. However, names of the hospital’s entire ICU team were missing from the list of recipients on the Co-Win portal.
