She just never thought she’d be allowed to play it.
“I played tennis and netball,” she said. “I didn’t even think about playing football. It wasn’t an option for a girl.
“But I loved it so much. So I’d take a football to school with me every single day. That’s what I became known for there!”
Tynan’s excellent football adventure might have started quietly but it peaked in celebratory fashion at the weekend, when the North Adelaide co-captain became one of two women – along with Norwood’s Leah Cutting – to be the first to play 50 matches in the SANFL women’s competition.

The incident shut down Route 22 for much of the day and put nearby Bonny Eagle High School and Middle School on high alert. A destructive bushfire season and drought killed thousands of wild horses in the last year, but even more may need to be culled.
The brumby population in Kosciuszko National Park dropped from 19,000 to 14,000 due to natural disasters, according to a National Parks and Wildlife survey.
New South Wales Environment Minister Matt Kean said there were still too many horses and argued they should be trapped and rehomed, but a brumby lobby group warned many would end up in an abattoir.
