Fairfield County staple Craig s Jewelers, located on Main Street in Ridgefield, announced that Elsie Craig has died at the age of 94. We are heartbroken by this horrific loss, but hope to find comfort in knowing she is at peace and back with her husband Norman, the store said. Norman Craig died in January 2011 at the age of 83. Elsie Craig died on July 15 at Danbury Hospital, according to her obituary. Police said the investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing, and it’s not clear yet whether a vehicle was involved. In her obituary, the 94-year-old was remembered as a lifelong Ridgefield resident and “active” member of the community. Along with working as a volunteer patient driver, she held positions at the Ridgefield Historical Society, Keeler Tavern and the Ridgefield Chapter of Regional Hospice and Palliative Care of Western CT, according to the obituary.
