A case was filed against the general secretary of Naragati Thana Awami League for allegedly torturing a child in Kalia of Narail.
The child s father accused Shah Mohammad Forkan Mollah, who is also the chairman of Baisona Union Parishad, and two others yesterday night, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting police.
A video of the man beating up the child went viral on social media after it was posted on Facebook on Sunday night (May 9).

KHULNA , May 06, 2021 (BSS) – With decreasing trend in the daily number of COVID-19 infections in recent days, the recovery rate also continued to rise and currently stands at 90.20 percent in Khulna division.
“A total of 28,642 COVID-19 patients out 31,658 have been healed up till Wednesday at the recovery rate of 90.47 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) , Khulna division Dr. Rasheda Sultana told BSS today.
The 28,642 recovered COVID-19 patients include 8,043 in Khulna, 5,782 in Jashore 4,381 in Kushtia 2,547 in Jhenaidah, 1,743 in Chuadanga, 1,733 in Narail, 1272 in Bagerhat, 1206, in Satkhira, 1139 in Magura, and 796 in Meherpur districts.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 149 more COVID-19 infected patients were recovered in last 24 hours till today noon raising their total number to 28,642 in all ten districts of Khulna division.

KHULNA, May 05, 2021 (BSS) – With the decreasing trend in the daily coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in recent days, the recovery rate from the lethal virus also rises and currently stands at 90.20 percent in the division.
“A total of 28,493 COVID-19 patients healed till Tuesday out of total 31,586 infected with the recovery rate of 90.20 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Rasheda Sultana told BSS today.
The 28,493 recovered COVID-19 patients include 8,007 in Khulna, 5,701 in Jashore 4,368 in Kushtia 2,542 in Jhenaidah, 1203 in Satkhira, , 1135 in Magura, and 794 in Meherpur districts.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 154 more COVID-19 infected patients recovered in last 24 hours till today noon, raising their total number to 28,493 in all ten districts of Khulna division.
