I am a Seventh-day Adventist head-and-neck surgical oncologist. Our church rightfully places significant emphasis on medical mission work. Jesus Himself was the Great Physician, and His healing ministry was an integral part of His soul winning. Certainly, medical ministries combined with the gospel truth lead many people to salvation. I have learned, however, that medicine can also affirm the faith of someone who is already a believer. Like a church, the halls of a hospital are often hallowed by God’s presence; and even when broken, the human body like “the heavens” still shouts out the glory of God.

Following the tribute ex beauty queen, Helen Ajayi penned to her late ‘husband,’ Dr Tosin Ajayi of First Foundation Hospital, Yemisi, the estranged first wife of the late doctor, not wanting to be left out, has now penned her own tribute to her late ex husband.
Yemisi was married to the late Ajayi for about 22 years and then they separated. 10 years after that separation, the late Dr Ajayi met Helen whom he was with for the last 25 years of his life.
In the tribute to her husband, Yemisi said, “Dr. Joseph Ademola Olutosin Ajayi, you were so many things and different things to so many people. But to me, you were my first love, my only love, my friend, my only husband and the father to all my five children.

You may wonder how often the Bible talks about health. Many of us are familiar with the text about our bodies being temples, but how do we really take our health seriously? How can we treat our bodies with the utmost respect and care?
Several passages address health in the Bible. God gives us the blueprint on operating the human body, which tells us how to keep proper maintenance with our health. While the Bible doesn’t offer medical guidance, many principles emphasize maintaining good mental, physical, and spiritual health that we should all pay attention to.

When Amazon released a list of the most highlighted passages in its bestselling books, including the Bible, I was curious to see which verses would rank as the most popular in America. I expected John 3:16, Psalm 23, or the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. But, no, it was Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This is a passage I’ve underscored in my own Bible, and it’s a portion of a paragraph I’ve memorized. These words shore up my sanity, because I’ve battled anxiety from childhood. Nothing grips my spirit like worry. It’s like a spider spinning webs of worry in my mind and tightening the strings.
