chp confirming that to people who were in a car during the shooting have died. the shooting taking place last night on 580 in oakland. one of the people were shot and killed and the other was ejected when the car they were riding in crashed as a result of the shooting. this happened at 8:30 last night. you can see where we are talking about. eastbound 580 off seminary avenue offramp. not far from the split with highway 13. the call came in as a vehicle crash with injuries on the freeway. when chp arrived they realized the car had been shot out. we believe other people were hurt. chp shut down the offramp so officers could search for evidence. no information about a possible suspect or what led to the shooting. chp said they will release more details. we expect that within the hour. so far, there have been 48 freeway shootings in the bay area. you may recall last week governor newsom announced funding for cameras for the freeways and those would be installed on freeways in ala
