‘Protest will be intensified against anti-farmer and anti-labour policies of the Centre’ A sustained campaign will be undertaken across the nation to mobilise the support of all sections of the society including farmers and labourers to protest the ‘anti-farmer and anti-labour’ policies of the BJP-led Central government, All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) State convenor Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao has said. As part of the campaign, a farmers’ Mahapanchayat will be organised at the ABM College grounds in Ongole on April 19 to press for, among other things, repeal of the three farm laws, statutory backing to minimum support price(MSP) regime and scrapping of the Electricity (Amendment) Bill intended to phase out the subsidies.

Image Source: IANS News Gurugram, Feb 10 : The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Wednesday organised a Kisan Panchayat at Sohna s grain market and also sent a memorandum to the President Ram Nath Kovind, seeking withdrawl of the Centre s three new farm laws. The protesting farmers also raised an anti-government slogan against the agricultural laws. A total of 150 people including farmers and leaders of different parties attended the Kisan Panchayat. SKM chief Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that the protest saw participations of multiple social organisations as well as 36 fraternal dignitaries.

8th round of Govt-farmer talks begins, seeking to resolve impasse   Fri, Jan 08 2021 03:42:49 PM New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): Amid the ongoing farmers protest, the eighth round of dialogue between the government and 41 farm union representatives began here on Friday, with both sides hoping for a successful conversation to yield results and end the over one-and-a-half-month deadlock. The government began the talks signalling an outcome of positive results from the meeting while the farmers threatened to intensify the stir if their demand to repeal three contentious farm laws is not fulfilled. So far there is no official assurance from both sides if they will choose another way to end the impasse and they are still stiking to their points.
